what should be done about sex offenders?

I think its a horrible thing, that a bunch of women are being raped and murder. Sometimes its even by an offender charged with sexual assault before. I think these people need to be closely monitored by the police, they should all have probation officers, that keep them under close observation. Its gone on long enough, women should feel safe when they go out in the world to live there lives. If they don't feel safe there more likely to buy protection, like guns or knives that may make them hurt an innocent person they thought might have been a threat. There's also the persons family that might go out looking for revenge by killing the offender, so innocent people might go to prison looking out for the ones they love.
